Rangers, Celtic and Leeds United are three of a whole host of clubs interested in signing Hibs star John McGinn. The 23-year-old has been somewhat of a star attraction in Scotland this season and is in high demand this summer.
The player himself is aware of the growing interest in him but is yet to confirm any rumours. He also has not decided which club he would eventually pick to play for.
He said,“The Celtic one’s always been something I’ve been linked with because of the relations I have – my granddad was the chairman there. They’re both massive clubs but at the same time, it’s not for me to comment on.
“I’ve got another year here. I’m sure the media will have their ideas where they want me to go – I just want to go where I’ll improve. If that’s this year or next year then who knows?”
McGinn is a 23-year-old star who generally operates as a central midfielder. He can play as a holding midfielder and a number 8 depending on his team’s needs. He is creatively strong enough to push up even further if required. He is also quite strong technically to play on the flanks and prefers the left flank more.
McGinn has been extremely coy over his decision making and is clearly holding his cards close to his chest.
“I’m not sure – it could possibly be. But at the same time, I could have 41 games left. It just depends what happens after I sit down with my family and with the club to decide what’s best for me. I just want to play at the highest level I possibly can.”
The player has been a star in the Hibs side this season, making 43 appearances for them. He has scored 6 goals and created 8 more, a number that is quite high for a central midfielder. He is quite young and is yet to reach his peak age for a midfielder.
It is being reported that one of the interested parties in him is Leeds United. The Elland Road club’s performance has been below par this season. They started off brilliantly but lost their way later on. Their former manager Thomas Christiansen was fired but the new man in, Paul Heckingbottom, was unable to stop the slide.

It is necessary for him to bring in reinforcements in the summer with McGinn high up on his priority list. The midfielder is a dynamic player and will certainly be a good addition to the side, helping them to fight for a place among next season’s top flight promotion contenders.
