Everton are reportedly worried that Wayne Rooney’s decision to move to MLS in America might flop and the veteran might stay for another season at Goodison Park. The player moved to Everton from Manchester United last season after Jose Mourinho made it clear that Rooney no longer had a significant part to play in the side.
He moved to Everton with the Merseysiders paying £180,000 a week and United filling in with the £120,000 per week, thereby keeping his wage at £300k. His wages are high and Farhad Moshiri was unhappy and doubtful about paying so much for Rooney.
However, he was convinced by Chairman Bill Kenwright to bring in the 32-year-old. He turns 33 this October and Everton are now scared that they will have to pay £9million for the player. It seems that Everton are in a rather messy situation and will want to move on the veteran.
With the player still having a few good days left in him, he can certainly cut it out in England. Here are three clubs who should bring him in.
Burnley
The Burnley team have performed incredibly well under Sean Dyche. The Clarets have punched way above their weight and have qualified to play in Europe next season. They have produced a mean defence this season and that has been the rock on which they have built the season.
They, however, need attacking reinforcements up front and Rooney could be an ideal improvement. He has plenty of experience of playing in the English league and the 32-year-old will be an experienced head in the side. He will also get the chance to play in Europe at Burnley.
Leicester City
The Foxes won the league back in 2015-16 and after a disappointing season last year, they performed incredibly well this season. They finished in the top half and under Claude Puel, they look like a strong side. The addition of Rooney will be perfect for their counter-attacking game with Mahrez and Vardy playing next to him.
Newcastle United
The Magpies are unlikely to make any high-profile signing in the team but might look to add a few reinforcements. They need an attacker with enough experience of the English league and Wayne Rooney could be a perfect addition to their side.

Rafa Benitez will need new players and having a versatile player like him who can play in attack or midfield will be much needed for the Magpies.
