Italian giants Juventus have set their sights on Arsenal‘s right back Hector Bellerin and they want Arsenal to reduce their asking price of £50m for the Spaniard. The decision to sell Bellerin could come on the shoulders of the new manager as Arsene Wenger’s term at the club is finally over. It will be interesting to see what the new manager does and whether he will keep Bellerin in his plans for the future.
The Spaniard who was being hailed as one of the best right backs in the business has had a below par season this term just like his club, Arsenal. The defender has been error-prone and that has cost his team dearly. Nevertheless, he is just 23 and he will probably learn a lot from the season just gone by.
The defender has been at the club since 2011 but he started his career in Spain with Barcelona. Juventus have shown interest in the right-back since the last few transfer windows but Arsenal have been able to keep their asset safe as of now.
The Turin outfit will be in need of a right back next season as their experienced campaigner Stephan Lichtsteiner will be out of contract in June. The Swiss international is 34 and it is highly likely that Juventus will not extend his contract. Even if they do, it is probably going to be a short-term contract and Bellerin will certainly be a long-term prospect for the Turin side. The only other proper right back option they have is Mattia De Sciglio who made 12 appearances in the league this season.
Bellerin’s performances have been below expectations this summer but one needs to remember that Arsenal as a team hasn’t been able to defend well. The Gunners will be hoping that their new beginning under new manager will bring some change in their fortunes for the next season.

Juventus has indicated that they will go for the defender only if the London club decides to lower their asking price. Bellerin, even though he has been around the blocks for quite some time now, is still young and has huge room for improvement. He has all the abilities to become one of the best in the world in the future and Arsenal will probably not like to sell him at this point in time if he can improve his game.
