Mauricio Pochettino’s men kept their cool on their visit to the Riverside stadium this weekend to steal all three points from the league game against Middlesbrough. Aitor Karanka’s side had no real zeal about their play for most of the game but showed some fight at the end after Ben Gibson gave the home side a way back into the game after a brace from Heung-Min Son within the half hour mark for the Spurs. Hugo Lloris (6)
Stuck to his task well of keeping Middlesbrough away from his area as he commanded the box with ease and also showed his strength plucking crosses out of the air in the penalty area.
Kyle Walker (6)
Not his best day in a Spurs shirt for Walker who was at times found wanting. Though kept hold of the lead, he picked up a booking in the second half for an unnecessary foul that almost provided Boro with a goal.
Jan Vertonghen (8)
Playing with loads of confidence, Vertonghen was in cruise control at the back as he kept Boro away from his goal and helped his side to hold on to the advantage even under late pressure from the home side.
Toby Alderweireld (6)
Though did not make any glaring mistakes, Alderweireld did not have the best day at the back as he was at times found out of position. Though not a disastrous performance, it was not a performance that was up to his standards.
Ben Davies (6)
Holding the place in the absence of Danny Rose, Davies did not do enough to warrant a place in the side after his English compatriot is back in action. He was not bad on the night but was pretty anonymous for most of the game.
Victor Wanyama (7)
A strong presence in the midfield for Tottenham, Wanyama, was decent in a midfield role, helping his side run the game in front of the defence.
Dele Alli (7)
Alli showed great energy and creativity on the night as he managed to boss the midfield away from home for his side.
Moussa Sissoko (7)
The midfield engine on the flank that kept the play running for Tottenham, Sissoko was decent in his role for the side as he kept the Boro defence honest for the whole game.
Christian Eriksen (6)
Was not his usual self on the night as he struggled to find space and create chances, but was effective at times in dangerous areas making him an important player for the Spurs.
Son Heung-Min (8)
Arguably the best player on the pitch on the night, Heung-Min Son, picked up a well-deserved brace on a night where he managed to trouble the Boro defence to pick up 3 goals from his last three league games for the club.
Vincent Janssen (7)
Put in an excellent shift on the night as he showed that he is getting accustomed to the English league. Set up his team’s first goal on the night and made sure that the injured Harry Kane was not missed.

Eric Lamela (6)
Came on for Sissoko with 20 minutes to play and considerably increased the tempo of his side’s game late in the clash.
Harry Winks (5)
Replaced Vincent Janssen for just 4 minutes of normal time and hardly had any attacking to do late in the game.
Georges-Kevin N’Koudou (6)
Replaced Eriksen in stoppage time and got a couple of minutes under his belt in the Premier League.
