Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj could stay with the Italian side amidst speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal when the transfer window opens in the summer. According to recent reports, the Serie A defensive ace’s future at Naples has been decided as he is set to stay at the Stadio San Paolo beyond this summer.
Hysaj has been in fine form for Maurizio Sarri’s team during the course of this campaign which has seen the likes of the Gunners try to sign him in the past. The 24-year-old has made 46 appearances for Napoli this season and has one assist to his name so far. He also has 29 international caps for the Albanian national team. The Serie A side should do all they can to keep hold of Hysaj’s services for the coming years as he has the potential to become a world-beater in Italian football.
With Arsenal set to miss out on his signature, let’s take a look at three alternative options for the Gunners to consider in this post-season.
Bruno Peres
The 28-year-old AS Roma right-back has been solid at the back for the Serie A side this season. The Brazilian defender has featured in 25 matches for the Italian side this term across all competitions so far. He would be the perfect candidate to compete with Hector Bellerin and has the ability to feature in their first-team on a regular basis in the near future if the Gunners opted to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Seamus Coleman
The Everton defensive ace has not featured regularly for the Toffees this season after being out on the sidelines due to a serious injury. However, he has slowly returned to full fitness and Arsenal could look to secure his services in this post-season and take a chance on the Republic of Ireland defender. The 29-year-old has a lot of experience in the English top-flight, having made 259 appearances for the Toffees, scoring 24 goals and providing 25 assists during his career with the Merseysiders.

Mario Gaspar
The Villarreal CF defender has enjoyed a rich vein of form this term and has made 37 appearances for the Spanish club, scoring two goals and creating three assists in all competitions. He could be an ideal asset for the Gunners if given a chance to prove himself in the top tier of English football.
