Leicester City are vying for the signature of Niclas Fullkrug who has enjoyed a terrific season with Hannover 96. The German youth international has scored 15 times in all competitions and has assisted a further 3 times.
The Foxes have had an inconsistent season as they have blown hot and blown cold throughout the entire campaign. They were currently on a run of bad form before they got their confidence booster against Arsenal where they saw off the Gunners comfortably. However, a lot more was expected out of this talented side and the fans would have hoped that their team would finish in a European spot.
The atmosphere at the club has dampened in the last few months and their manager Claude Puel could be on his way out. Nevertheless, the board will look to appoint someone credible and they will be hoping to secure some players which will improve their squad.
Leicester have been heavily dependent on Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy for the last few years and one of the duo is expected to leave in the summer. The Algerian winger has been throwing tantrums and Leicester expects him to depart from the King Power Stadium this summer. In a situation like that, Leicester will need some attacking backup and it seems they have set their sights on the German forward Niclas Fullkrug.
Along with the Foxes, there are a host of other clubs as well who are looking to sign him. It is being reported that the club will have to pay £4.5-8m to acquire the striker’s services. He has played a huge role in keeping his team in the German top flight and it is being said that he might just have an outside chance to be picked for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He has a contract at the current club until 2020.
Fullkrug is a versatile striker as he can play down the flanks and can turn up as a traditional number 9 as well. He has a keen eye for a goal and that has attracted a whole lot of clubs.

Leicester’s attacking outlet has been heavily dependent on Jamie Vardy in the last few years and during his absence, either due to injuries or suspension, the team has struggled to find the back of the net. Fullkrug will certainly be a great addition to the squad and he has the ability to play the role of a secondary striker as well, so we can see him partnered up with Vardy. Moreover, he can also be used down the right-hand side if Riyad Mahrez leaves in the summer.
