Leicester City, who are having a bad run of form recently, are looking to part ways with their manager Claude Puel at the end of the season and have zeroed in on current Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner for the top job at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester City are currently on the ninth spot but they were expected to fight for a European spot before the season began. The Foxes have been inconsistent throughout the season and as a result, will be finishing somewhere around the mid-table mark. Their manager has come under a lot of fire recently and he must be feeling the heat after they lost to West Ham this weekend at home. There were boos ringing around the stadium and it was filled with chants of ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’, pointed evidently towards Puel.
The 2015-16 winners have failed to score a goal in their last three encounters and there seems to be discontent among the fans as well as the players. Leicester have been known as a fast counter-attacking team but Puel has tried to change that identity and they have been playing more possession-based football, which doesn’t seem to have suited their current crop of players.
Wagner, on the other hand, has a contract till next year at Huddersfield and one expects that he will fulfil his contract especially if he keeps his side in the top division.
Wagner has done a terrific job with the Terriers as he took them to the Premier League and are in line to secure their status as a top-flight club. However, they are having to fight tooth and nail for it as they are just three points off the relegation zone. Still, the German tactician deserves some credit for his side’s credible performance in the top flight.
Here are three replacements which the Terriers can bring in if Wagner leaves for Leicester.
Claudio Ranieri
The former Premier League winner is currently managing Nantes in the French division. He did the unthinkable with Leicester City and has a plethora of managing experience behind him and he will certainly be an able replacement for Wagner.
Michael Laudrup
Laudrup was considered as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation and he is said to have a great footballing brain. He had a stint with Swansea City earlier, but he wasn’t too impressive at the Welsh club. Currently, he is managing Al-Rayyan in the Qatar league and Huddersfield Town can take a punt on him.

Slaven Bilic
The former West Ham United manager was inconsistent during his tenure with the Hammers but did manage some good results once in a while. Having already got an experience in the Premier League, he can certainly improve and could be a good fit for the Terriers.
