On loan Celtic midfielder is all set to return to Celtic Park at the end of the season after his loan spell at Aberdeen comes to an end. According to recent reports, the Scottish midfielder is looking to finish his season on a high at the Pittodrie Stadium where he has been a revelation during the course of this campaign.
Christie has put in a number of outstanding performances for the Dons during this season which means that the Hoops could look to make use of his services next term. He is currently preparing for his team’s final match of the season against Rangers but his future still remains unclear. Some sources have recently claimed that Hull City are looking to secure his services when the transfer window opens in the summer.
However, it looks highly unlikely that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers will look to part ways with his prized asset this summer, especially after the excellent season that Christie has experienced while playing for Aberdeen. The 23-year-old wide man has recently addressed his future and was quoted to have said, “Looking forward, I will just be reporting for Celtic for pre-season and we’ll take it from there but, most importantly for me right now, I’m desperate to help this club finish second.
“A lot of people have been asking me what my future holds but it’s hard to look past the end of the season.
“It would be such a great way to end my time at Aberdeen if we can steal second.
“It comes down to these two games and I need to do as much as I can to help the club in these two games. I’m sure it will be over like that and I will definitely miss my time up in Aberdeen.
“It’s brilliant that the two games I’ve got left are probably the two biggest games of our season so I’m really looking forward to them.”
The Hoops are currently sitting at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with just one match remaining in this campaign. Brendan Rodgers’ side has been the best team in Scotland by a country mile but their performance in European competitions this season left a lot to be desired.
Hence, the Glaswegian outfit needs to strengthen in the summer in order to maintain their dominance in Scottish football while also making an impression in the UEFA Champions League in the coming years. Retaining some of their top talents like Christie could help the club reach for the stars and continue winning major trophies for years to come.

Christie has made 41 appearances for the Dons this season, scoring 5 goals while creating 15 assists in all competitions. He is exactly the kind of player who can flourish under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic Park. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Christie and whether he ends up staying with the Glaswegian giants in the near future.
