Everton have reportedly signed 19-year-old, Beni Baningime, on a four-year contract extension. The midfielder has managed to appear in the few senior team games this season and is highly rated by the Toffees youth coaches. Both Sam Allardyce and the fans at Goodison Park have been impressed by the teenager’s substitute appearances in the recent past. Baningime has come on to solidify the Everton midfield in the late stages of games and has shown real vigour in his approach to matches.
The Congolese man has looked energetic and has shown signs of promise. He can carry the ball from deep positions and has the ability to win back possession. He is also quite calm for a player of his age, which is an uncommon aspect among other players of his age.
Baningime is a graduate of the Everton youth academy and he was gleaming with joy upon signing a new contract. He was quoted saying, “I’m really happy to sign a new contract and so proud because it represents what I’ve always wanted – which is to be around the first team and fighting for my place. This Club means a lot to me because I’ve been here from a young age. It’s where I want to be and I’m so thankful to everyone at the Club who has helped me get to this point. Hopefully, this season is the first of many years of me being involved in the Everton first team.”
“I’m determined to keep developing and to speak to everyone I can in order to keep improving my game. I speak to the manager, Duncan [Ferguson], Craig Shakespeare, Sammy Lee – just anything I can do to improve my game.”
This is definitely a massive boost for the Everton board, who are planning to change their current trajectory in the near future. The Toffees has embarked on a heavy investment strategy in order to place themselves in the same bracket as some of the league’s elites.
Farhad Moshiri has a dream of seeing the club in the UEFA Champions League and he has agreed to spend heavily in the next transfer window. Of course, developing your own young talent is a far more concrete approach rather than just buying players, to solidify their achievements in the coming years.

Though Everton have invested a lot of money to bring in a number of top-class players in the last two windows, it has been the younger players coming out of the club’s academy who has impressed wholeheartedly. Mason Holgate looks to be a solid defensive ace already and Tom Davies might just be one of the best young talents in the entire country right now. Baningime belongs to the same class and is expected to have a decorated career in Everton colours.
