Josh Murphy, the talented Norwich City winger is being linked with a move to Crystal Palace. The Eagles have pretty much secured their position in the English top flight on the back of some strong performances recently and are looking to bolster their squad for the next campaign.
However, it won’t be easy to lure him in as there are other English clubs that are on the lookout for the talented attacking ace. The winger has scored 11 goals this season for the Canaries and he has been one of the few bright sparks for them this season as they have struggled in the Championship. Norwich are currently in the 12th spot and one would have expected them to compete at least for the playoffs.
Murphy has represented England in various age brackets and is being touted as a future England international at the senior level. For that, he might have to move to a top division club so that he becomes more noticeable. Josh and Jacob, the twin brothers, both started their stint with the Canaries and Jacob later moved on to join Newcastle United and it seems that its time for Josh also to make a move to an English top-flight side.
Crystal Palace had a dismal start in the Premier League as their highly rated manager Frank De Boer struggled. They were without a point in their first seven games and the former Ajax manager was shown the door. The experienced Roy Hodgson came in and since then they have slowly and steadily improved. They have accumulated 8 points in their last four games and are unbeaten in that period.
It is not clear whether Hodgson will be parting ways with Palace after the end of this season. However, they will certainly be adding some firepower in the attacking half of the pitch as they have been too reliant on Wilfried Zaha for attacking output. Whenever Zaha has been injured, the Eagles have struggled to score as they lacked a player who can provide a spark in the opposition’s half.

Murphy is adept at playing on both the flanks and is known for his good pace and trickery. However, he sometimes lets his team down by giving away possession cheaply in midfield and that is a facet which he needs to improve upon. He is still young and a move to a top-flight club will probably enhance and test him further and Crystal Palace could be a good fit for him at this point in his career.
