Liverpool will travel to Italy to take on AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night as part of their second leg in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The Reds currently have a 5-2 advantage on aggregate against their Italian counterparts but the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp would know that his side needs to play at their best level if they are to brush off Eusebio Di Francesco’s team and book their place in the final of Europe’s premier cup competition.
The German manager is expected to stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and may opt to revert back to playing all of his first-team stars. However, the away team would be without the services of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Emre Can and Adam Lallana for this encounter in Rome as they will all miss out due to serious injuries.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face AS Roma
Defence
Loris Karius is expected to start in goal for the Klopp’s team while Simon Mignolet settles for a place on the bench. The former FSV Mainz shot-stopper might be protected by a back four of Dejan Lovren and Virgil Van Dijk in central defence while Andrew Robertson starts in the left-back position and Trent Alexander-Arnold is deployed on the right-hand side of the backline.
Both Alberto Moreno and Joe Gomez might miss out on this contest after they featured against Stoke City last weekend. Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that his defenders can keep it tight at the back versus the Romans on Wednesday night so that they have a good chance of securing a result at the Stadio Olimpico which would see them progress into the Champions League final.
Midfield
The trio of James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson could be deployed at the centre of the park and the performance of these players will be crucial if the away team are to break down the AS Roma defence in Rome.
Ben Woodburn could be available for a place on the bench for this encounter against Eusebio Di Francesco’s team.
Attack
The front three would consist of Roberto Firmino spearheading the Liverpool attack while Sadio Mane looks to use his pace and power down the left flank. Mohamed Salah will start on the right side of the Reds attack and will hope to get his name on the scoresheet in his former hunting ground. Both Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke could be available on the bench and might come on during the contest if required.
