Swansea City made a dismal start to the 2017-18 English Premier League season. They were deep in the relegation zone and it saw their old manager get sacked in favour of Carlos Carvalhal. The new man did improve the club and Swansea City plunged out of their darkness.
However, his influence has waned and Swansea are once again in danger of collapsing. Amidst their struggle against relegation, there has been the talk of their central defender Kyle Bartley moving to Leeds United. The 26-year-old player was out on loan at Leeds United last season. He was impressive for them and made 45 appearances in the Championship.
However, Leeds did not offer to extend his deal and he came back to Swansea for this season. He has been unable to make an impression at the Welsh club having only made 4 appearances all season. However, his season has also been hampered by his ligament injury in his knee which saw him ruled out from August to January.
It is being reported that should Swansea City avoid the drop, Carvalhal is open to the idea of selling Bartley with Leeds United once again interested in signing the defender, this time on a permanent deal. Should Bartley leave the club, Swansea will definitely need replacements. Here are 3 players Swansea can consider bringing in next season.
Gary Cahill
The English defender is clearly past his prime and spending his last season at Chelsea. He will more or less be on the move next season to another English club and Swansea can consider moving in for him on the cheap. He has plenty of experience of playing in the English league and can lead the team from the back. A champion domestically and in Europe, he will bring a wealth of knowledge to Swansea City.
Ashley Williams
The Everton man can be another target. He is a former Swansea player and held in great esteem at the club. However, he has been unable to settle in Merseyside and the fans have turned against him. He can seek a move back to Wales and maybe help his old club before retirement.

The defender who was a part of the Leicester City championship winning team has seen his spot taken away by new defenders. He can be a good option for Swansea as he would bring in experience and strength at the back.
