Ben Gibson, who is the nephew of Steve Gibson, the owner of Boro, is certainly one of the best players for his side at the moment. However, thanks to his impressive performances in the Championship this season, a big-money move to Premier League could be on the horizon for the 25-year-old.
West Ham United, in particular, might be in need of recruiting a quality defender in the upcoming summer transfer window. They have faltered defensively this season on a number of occasions, which saw them slip into the relegation zone for a brief period at the very start of the term.
Ben Gibson could provide some significant thrust into the West Ham backline, which has lacked tenacity as well as quality this campaign. Hence, the Hammers definitely need to plunge in some serious cash if they are to secure the services of the English international this summer.
