Burnley are interested in securing the services of West Bromwich Albion winger Matt Phillips this summer. According to recent reports, the Clarets are looking to make a move for the Scottish wide man when the transfer window opens in the summer. It is believed that Sean Dyche’s side could be looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new campaign as Burnley looks set to experience UEFA Europa League football next term. He is exactly the kind of player who can flourish under Sean Dyche in what looks set to be a long and hard season for his side next term.
Phillips made a poor start to this campaign but has improved under caretaker manager Darren Moore in recent times. Burnley will now be hoping that they can snap him up this summer and help rejuvenate his career at Turf Moor. The Scottish international has failed to hit the heights of last season but still has a lot of talent which the Clarets would want to make use of, in the next campaign.
The 27-year-old winger has featured in 32 matches for West Brom this season, scoring two goals while grabbing three assists in all competitions. He also has 11 international caps and one goal for the Scottish national team to his name.
Burnley have a healthy tally of 53 points after Gameweek 35 and currently find themselves in the 7th spot in the league rankings. Sean Dyche has done a remarkable job during the course of this season which could see them get rewarded with European football this year.
The potential acquisition of Phillips will undoubtedly bolster Dyche’s attacking options as they look to cope with Europa League football next season. The Clarets have the likes of Aaron Lennon, Robbie Brady and Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson vying for a place in their first-team. The addition of Phillips will improve their squad significantly and add more competition for places within Dyche’s team.

It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Phillips and whether he ends up making a switch to the Turf Moor next summer.
