Valencia are looking to sign Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira on a permanent deal this summer. According to recent reports, the La Liga outfit wants to recruit the Brazilian winger permanently when the transfer window opens in the summer. The 22-year-old, who is currently out on loan at the Mestalla Stadium, has confirmed that the Spanish side wants to sign him on a permanent basis but has also disclosed that he has ‘an ambition to make it at United’.
Pereira joined Valencia on a season-long loan deal last summer and has gone on to make 28 appearances for Marcelino García Toral’s team this season, scoring one goal and grabbing five assists in all competitions. Some sources are now claiming that Valencia are negotiating with the player’s representatives over a potential deal to turn his loan stay into a permanent one this summer. In a recent interview, Pereira addressed his future and was quoted to have said, “Valencia approached my agent and said they want to buy me which is flattering, but it wasn’t like it was reported in the media,”
“People said I’d demanded talks with Jose Mourinho when I’ve demanded nothing. The Valencia coach speaks with me a lot and we have a good understanding, but as far as I’m concerned I’m still a Manchester United player, with a contract at Old Trafford until 2020 and an ambition to make it at United.
“I’ve never sought to leave United.”
The Red Devils are currently occupying the second spot in the league table with a handsome tally of 74 points in 34 league fixtures. They have also managed to book their ticket to the final of the FA Cup where they will go head-to-head with Antonio Conte’s Chelsea next month.
Retaining some of their top players will go a long way in helping them close the gap to Manchester City in the coming years. However, it does not seem like Pereira is in Jose Mourinho’s plans for the future so a permanent move in the summer might make sense for all parties. Manchester United have the likes of Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial vying for a place on the left flank in Mourinho’s first-team. Hence, it’s safe to say that they are well covered in that position and should look to strengthen other areas of their squad.

Pereira has made some great progress in his development after joining Valencia so a permanent switch to the Mestalla Stadium would be the best solution for all parties. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Pereira and whether he ends up making a permanent switch to Spain in the near future.
