Manchester United have sealed a move for Slovakian teenager Martin Svidersky this summer. According to recent reports, the Red Devils have secured the services of the 15-year-old European ace as they continue to recruit talented young players for the future. The Slovakian starlet confirmed that he has joined United via a social media post on Instagram stating, “A Dream Come True. A day I will never forget. Delighted to sign my first contract with Manchester United. I would like to thank my family, friends but especially GOD for a big support. Many more things to come in future.”
He becomes the second Slovakian to join the prestigious Academy of Manchester United after goalkeeper Alex Fojticek signed for the Red Devils back in 2016. A Slovakian player has never featured for the Manchester outfit since the European nation gained independence from Czechoslovakia in 1993. However, Jose Mourinho’s team has ramped up it’s scouting network in Eastern Europe over the last few years, which means that there will be more acquisitions from countries like Slovakia in the near future.
Svidersky will now link up with the Manchester United Under 18 side, who have recently won the Northern Division. Only time will tell whether he can make his way up the ladder and break into United’s first-team in the coming years.
The Reds of Manchester are sitting in the second spot in the league standings with a handsome tally of 74 points after 34 league fixtures. They have also booked their place in the final of the FA Cup where they will clash heads with Antonio Conte’s Chelsea next month.
The acquisition of Svidersky will definitely bolster Mourinho’s options at United in the future but for now, the young Slovakian should do all he can to grow and develop his game so that he can break into the United’s first-team picture in a few years time. At 15, Svidersky has enough time to learn to play ‘the United way’ and reach for the stars.

Some sources are also claiming that Mourinho’s side faced stiff competition from Liverpool and Chelsea but still managed to snap up the Slovakian wonder-kid in what could turn out to be a shrewd addition for them. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Svidersky and whether his decision to join the Red Devils’ youth team turns out to be the right move.
