Wolverhampton Wanderers will be hosting Sheffield Wednesday at the Molineux stadium. They are coming on the back of a big victory against Bolton where they demolished them 4-0. Wolves are enjoying their time currently in the Championship as they have qualified for the English top flight and have wrapped up the title as well.
With two games left to play, the West Midlands club has dominated the Championship this term as they are 12 points clear of their nearest rival. They might have won all the accolades but they will still be motivated for this game as they can touch the 100 point mark if they win against Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls are currently languishing at the 15h spot and they don’t have much to play for in this game. However, they will still be looking to end their season on a high and a win against Wolves will certainly enhance the mood of the club and the fans, though an upset will be unlikely as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side haven’t slowed down even after wrapping up the title.
The Wolves manager doesn’t have any injury concern and will be expected to line up a full-strength squad against Sheffield Wednesday. His team are in a rich vein of form as they have won seven games in their last 8 encounters. They have been on top of the table since November and have been head and shoulders above everyone in the Championship.
Sheffield Wednesday have a terrible record at the Molineux as they have won just 5 games out of the 36 they have played and have lost 22 of those. An upset is highly unexpected and this is how Wolves might line up to secure another win in their campaign.
Predicted Formation: 4-3-3
Defence-
The usual John Ruddy will start between the sticks for the West Midlands outfit. He will have a back three of Conor Coady, Willy Boly and Danny Batth to protect him.
Wolves have the best defensive record in the league as they have shipped in the least number of goals and it will be really tough for the Owls to break their backline.
Midfield-
The terrific duo of Ruben Neves and Romain Saïss will start in the middle of the park. Neves, who came in for a record-breaking fee, has had a huge impact on this Wolves team. Matt Doherty and Barry Douglas will play on the flanks will have a job of providing attacking output to the forwards.
Attack-
The trio of Helder Costa, Benik Afobe and Diogo Jota will provide the attacking threat for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
