Newcastle United defender, Curtis Good will be out of contract this summer and it is expected that the Magpies are not keen on extending his contract. The Australian defender hasn’t been part of Newcastle’s team in a single Premier League game. His two appearances for them this season has come in EFL Cup games.
The Magpies have been flying high in the latter half of the season as they have won 4 games out of their last five in the English Top Flight. They were expected to be in a relegation scrap at this point in time but Rafael Benitez’s side have done exceedingly well to be sitting safely in the top half of the table and are looking to finish the season on a comfortable note.
Regarding his move away from the English club he was quoted saying-”I definitely will be moving on. It’ll be good for a change, obviously getting back to playing senior football is the biggest thing for me, the next step.I definitely want to stay in the UK. I want to give it another crack at the highest level. I feel like I had a great opportunity that was upset with my situation.
“It’ll be nice to go trial somewhere if the opportunity comes up. The biggest thing is people seeing that you can play, and I’ve played over 20 games this season.
“I’d like to come home, but maybe when I’m older.”.
He further added-”A big thing from my perspective is I associate a lot of my time at Newcastle with this injury and maybe subconsciously people do here as well and that’s a big reason I’m looking for a change,’’
“I’ve had so many years here on the physio table and you’re just looking for that change, you don’t want to be known as the player who was injured.
“I have no issue whatsoever. If I got called up (to the first-team) tomorrow I could sit in there and do a job easy, I feel anyway. But people get opportunities ahead of you and you’re chasing.”

Newcastle have done well at the back, as the likes of Deandre Yedlin, Jamaal Lascelles, Paul Dummett have had a good season. It is highly unlikely that Benitez will offer a new contract to the Australian defender and it is expected that he will have to look for a new club in the summer.
