Recent reports claim that Gareth Bale is negotiating personally with Inter Milan for a summer departure from Real Madrid. The Galacticos are looking to offload the injury-stricken Welshman and plenty of European outfits have expressed concrete interest.
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are heavily pursuing the 28-year-old while a £51m bid from Chelsea was earlier rejected by Florentino Perez. Ideally, Bale would be made available in the market if a replacement is brought in but as per recent revelations, the Madrid president might just be fed up with his long overdrawn injury concerns.
The former Spurs player has started on 20 games out of the 33 he has appeared in this season and has netted the ball 14 times. With 8 more assists to his stat sheet, the winger might look to have had a decent season but regular viewers will say otherwise.
We are all aware of what the Welshman can deliver when fully fit and this season is only a sad glimpse of the entire picture. By Madrid’s lofty standards and the price for which he was brought in, Bale is currently an underachiever in the La Liga side and is not even guaranteed a starting berth under Zidane.
Perez’s frustrations reached its limits when the winger went down again in early December with a calf problem, the third time in the 2017/18 campaign. Inspired by the thinking of Perez himself, Los Blancos has been trying to facilitate a transfer move for the Brazilian superstar, Neymar himself.
To get the winger from Paris Saint-Germain Madrid obviously will have to dispense an obscene amount of cash and will have to get rid of some of the biggest contracts. This makes Bale the primary target, whose obligation to the club is set to run till the summer of 2022.
The prospects of Inter Milan is not entirely a bad thing for Bale. Even if he plays 30 games a season, his starting spot is unlikely to be contested much with the likes of a veteran Antonio Candreva and 19-year-old Yann Karamoh playing in the position.
The Black and Blues started off the season in scintillating form but faded off after the Christmas break. They are currently staged at the 5th spot of the Serie A table and are fighting it out with Lazio and AS Roma for a place in the top-four.

Bringing Bale will certainly give Luciano Spalletti and his men the offensive threat they have been looking for. After all, Mauro Icardi cannot be solely held responsible for all the goals.
