Are Chelsea fed up with Alvaro Morata or do they want to wait it out for another season? Only the summer transfer window will tell as the Blues are lining up major restructuring moves within the club. The West London side is in the 5th spot of the points table and might not be able to scavenge a Champions League spot with just 4 games left in the regular season. Juventus has been linked with the striker even though a concrete approach has not been made just yet.
Antonio Conte’s defence for the league title has been unimpressive and currently, the Italian’s position as the head coach is being speculated upon as well. Morata has failed to perform under Conte which although can be attributed to the injury snag and his own shortcomings and the departure of the latter could dictate the Premier League future of the other.
Morata arrived Stamford Bridge for an initial £58m transfer fee and started the season in blistering form. He struck 8 times in the opening 3 months and was being touted as the better option than Romelu Lukaku (who snubbed a move to Manchester United).
However, after a spell on the sidelines, the Spaniard lost all his confidence and looked debilitated to Chelsea’s cause. He was missing clear chances and Conte was forced to field Eden Hazard in the number nine role rather than risking another mishit. Even the January transfer window was addressed by bringing an additional strike option in Olivier Giroud.
Now Alvaro Morata’s goal tally for the season stands at just 14 out of the 43 games he appeared in – not at all impressive for a player who costs more than an industrial power plant.
He was again off the scoresheet in the last 3 fixtures against Southampton, Burnley and West Ham United.
Maybe it is a total demolishment of his inner confidence but the Premier League is turning out to be not his bread and butter. Maybe a return to either Juventus and Real Madrid would be the right move at this juncture of his career.
Real Madrid are struggling with the veteran Karim Benzema up front and Juventus need a secondary option behind Gonzalo Higuain. The real question lies in how Chelsea plan on recouping the amount they have already invested in the 25-year-old.
It is unlikely that the Juventus will agree to pay such copious amounts when they already have a £75.3m rated striker in Higuain.

Even the general manager of the Turin based outfit, Giuseppe Marotta share the same concerns and this could eventually end up halting the move completely.
