Tottenham Hotspur is one of few clubs who will be monitoring Jonny Evans after the end of the season. Spurs can go after the former Manchester United man as West Brom are on the verge of relegation. Evans can be bought at a cut-price deal as West Brom will be going down in the Championship and will be losing out on the financial benefits which a club receives while being in the top division.
West Brom has had a poor season as they have managed just four wins throughout their campaign. Their last win came against the much-fancied Manchester United at Old Trafford. Such a huge result is still not enough for the Baggies as they are 9 points adrift the safety spot with just 4 games remaining.
West Brom were known to be defensively organised and tough to break down under Tony Pulis but the season didn’t start well for the former manager and he was sacked. Alan Pardew took over but he failed to inspire the Baggies as he managed just one win in his stint at the club. The board showed him the door and David Moore was appointed as the interim manager until the end of the season.
Tottenham are enjoying a pretty good season as they are the favourites to finish inside the top 4. Spurs can also end their trophy drought this year as they are in the semi-finals of the Fa Cup and will be facing Manchester United this weekend. Pochettino has improved this side leaps and bounds and they are now being considered as a heavyweight of Engish football.
According to reports, Tottenham will be giving Pochettino a kitty of £120m in the upcoming transfer window to mount a better challenge for the top spot next season. Alderwiereld hasn’t signed a new contract and he could be on his way out of the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

In such a scenario, the London club can look at the experienced Northern Irish man for defensive stability. He might not be a sure starter but will add much-needed depth in the Tottenham squad if Toby Alderweireld leaves the club in the summer. It will be a good deal for Pochettino as Evans isn’t going to cost him much and he has the ability and the experience to lead the defence line.
