West Brom will take on Liverpool at the Hawthorns on Saturday to keep their hopes of relegation survival alive. The Baggies are coming off an impressive 0-1 win over Manchester United last weekend, that too at Old Trafford itself.
While Jose Mourinho was busy addressing the ongoing crisis with his players, Albion collected a quick 3 points to give their fans something to cheer about. 9 points in 4 games are still doable but almost near impossible.
For West Brom to save themselves, they will have to win every single one their last 4 league games and Swansea City or Crystal Palace will have to lose all of theirs.
They are already familiar with the visitors after having faced them in the 4th Round of the FA Cup back in January.
It was Albion who got the better of the Reds in that tie at the Anfield. Liverpool somehow could not turn back the 3-goal deficit and were embarrassingly knocked out of the competition.
Nothing can be said for certain with the hosts desperate for a relegation escape and Liverpool safely stacked 7 points ahead of Chelsea in the top-four. Discounted by plenty but not by their own fans. West Brom showed a form of resilience that they have been missing throughout the entire season.
The Reds are not necessarily their strongest at the moment but do have the required force to push West Brom into the grave that they have dug for themselves this season. Klopp is also expected to give some his key players a breather ahead of the UEFA Champions League Semi Final first leg against AS Roma.
Here is how West Brom might lineup on Saturday.
Formation: 4-4-1-1
Defence
Ben Foster was remarkable in the last tie. He will have to bring some of that form back into the home turf on Saturday as he is expected to be well tested against the incredible Liverpool offence.
The defensive quartet might feature Allan Nyom, Craig Dawson, Ahmed Hegazi and Kieran Gibbs.
Midfield
Chris Brunt have spoken our mind after the previous tie against the Red Devils – “As we say it is probably too little too late – it might not be, you never know, you’ve got to keep going.”
He will be leading the midfield with Jake Livermore, Matt Phillips and James McClean next to him.
Attack
Jay Rodriguez is the brightest spark in West Brom’s attacking lineup and will be looking to again be the difference maker in this tie. He might appear in the shadow striker role with Salomon Rondon ahead of him.
