Tottenham Hotspur are being linked to the talented French left-back Layvin Kurzawa. However, Tottenham will not find it easy to get him as he is on their rival club Chelsea‘s radar as well. Manchester United can also end up making a move for him as it is highly likely that the former Saints man Luke Shaw will be sold in the upcoming transfer window.
Spurs have done well this season as they are frontrunners to secure a spot in the top 4 as they are ahead by 8 points over their fifth-placed rivals Chelsea. Mauricio Pochettino’s men also have a realistic chance of winning the FA Cup as they are in the semi-finals and will be taking on Manchester United. They topped their group in the Champions League and could have gone through to the quarterfinals if they could have avoided some sloppy mistakes against Juventus in the round of 16.
Spurs can end up losing their talented English fullback Danny Rose in the summer. There have been speculations about him leaving the club in last few transfer windows and Manchester United have been the frontrunners to get him. In such a situation Spurs will be thin on the left back option and one expects them to make a move for the PSG man Layvin Kurzawa.
Kurzawa is a very capable modern day fullback as he is always looking to provide attacking option down the left-hand side of the pitch. He played for Monaco before he was signed by PSG and was part of Ligue 1 team of the year for the 2013-14 season.
In Pochettino’s team, a fullback is an important position and the likes of Kieran Trippier, Ben Davies, Serge Aurier and Danny Rose have done a good job this season. Pochettino has often rotated his fullbacks as they end up doing most of the running in his team. With Danny Rose set to leave in the summer, he will leave a void in that left-back role.

Kurzawa will be a right fit for the Premier League outfit as they will look to replace Rose. The 25-year-old defender will provide those overlapping runs down the left and will work tirelessly throughout his minutes on the pitch. One shortcoming he might have is that he isn’t tested defensively much in the Ligue 1 as PSG tend to dominate most of the games and they end up attacking pretty much throughout the 90 minutes. Kurzawa also hasn’t played outside of French League before and that could also be another problem as he might take time to get used to the Premier League’s tempo and physicality.
