Rangers have suspended their striker Kenny Miller following his bust-up with the Gers boss Graeme Murty after the club were thumped by their local rivals Celtic with a 4-0 scoreline in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup. The club has confirmed on their official website that they will look into a “team-related incident”. It was also stated that the Glaswegian side will “make no further comment until this investigation has been completed”.
It was reported earlier this week that the 38-year-old striker questioned the authority of Murty which left the Gers boss fuming at his conduct. Some sources have also claimed that Graeme Murty does not want Miller to take any part in his squad in the final few matches of this campaign. A source recently shed some light on the situation and was quoted to have said, “The Ibrox hierarchy are raging with the behaviour of the club’s most senior player and club captain after Sunday’s defeat,”
“The powers-that-be believe the manager has been undermined and have decided to take action. They don’t think what happened in the dressing room is acceptable.”
With Miller set to depart the Ibrox Stadium this summer, let’s take a look at three replacements for the Teddy Bears to consider in the off-season.
Thierry Ambrose
The Dutch Eredivisie striker has been in outstanding form for NAC Breda this term and is exactly the kind of attacking option that the Gers could benefit from. The French forward has made 31 appearances this season, finding the back of the net 10 times while notching up with 6 assists in all competitions. At 21, Ambrose has a lot of potential to grow and develop into a future star in Scottish football.
Ross McCormack
If the Glaswegian side are looking to recruit someone who can be a temporary fix, they can definitely consider making a move for the services of this 31-year-old veteran forward. The Scottish forward has recently completed a loan spell at Melbourne City in the A-League and returned to Aston Villa during the January transfer period. He has put in some eye-catching performances for the Australian outfit and has scored 14 goals in 19 matches during the last A-League campaign. McCormack also has a wealth of experience in English and Scottish football which makes him an ideal candidate to take up the goal-scoring duties at the Ibrox Stadium next season.

Jordan Siebatcheu
If the Gers are looking to take up a more long-term approach, they could choose to opt for this talented youngster. The Stade Reims ace has lit up the Ligue 2 with his dazzling displays during the course of this season. The 21-year-old striker has made 29 appearances for the French side this season, scoring 12 goals while coming up with 7 assists in all competitions. Siebatcheu has massive potential which the Teddy Bears could look to capitalise on, in the coming years.
