Paris Saint-Germain are lining up a blockbuster swap deal to sign Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro this summer. According to recent reports, the Ligue 1 giants are ready to offer Neymar in order to make a swoop for the Galacticos midfield enforcer when the transfer window opens in the summer. The Brazilian international has been a regular feature for Zinedine Zidane’s side this season and has put in some eye-catching displays for Los Blancos over the last few campaigns, which has not gone unnoticed.
Some sources are now claiming that the PSG could be eyeing a move to bring him to the French capital in the off-season. It is believed that the Parisian outfit are on the lookout for a new midfielder who can replace Thiago Motta at the heart of their midfield.
Paris Saint-Germain’ sporting director, Antero Henrique is a huge admirer of Casemiro’s talents and has worked with him previously during the Brazilian’s season-long loan spell at FC Porto. It is also being reported that the 26-year-old player is currently waiting on contract-renewal talks with Real Madrid. His current deal with the Galacticos is set to run out in the summer of 2021.
Casemiro’s release clause is reportedly set at €200m which could be out of PSG’s reach at the moment. However, they could look to include Neymar in any potential deal regarding Casemiro, which could pave the way for his departure from the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid have struggled in the La Liga during the course of this season but they are still in with a chance to win the UEFA Champions League with a semi-final clash versus Bayern Munich looming on the horizon. The addition of a player of the calibre of Neymar will undoubtedly bolster Zidane’s attacking options at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. The Galacticos have the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Lucas Vasquez and Borja Mayoral vying for a place in their first-team. The acquisition of Neymar will definitely add more competition for places and significantly improve the quality of the Madrid squad.

However, the departure of Casemiro will leave a big hole in their midfield which they could look to address by bringing in a suitable replacement. Neymar has featured in 30 matches for PSG this season, scoring 29 goals while grabbing 19 assists in all competitions. On the other hand, Casemiro has made 40 appearances for Los Blancos this term, scoring 7 goals while creating 3 assists from midfield across all competitions. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of these Brazilian players and whether they end up switching clubs in the near future.
