Leeds United began the season in fascinating style with their new manager Thomas Christiansen helping his club get underway immediately. His new style of play left the other teams in the Sky Bet Championship seeking an answer with few clubs getting the better of him.
However, as the season went by, he was not able to hold on to his promise in the long run with his tactics being worked out by the other teams. This left his job in jeopardy alongside Leeds United’s position in the table.

This would mean that next season Leeds is sure to have a new man in charge. The prospect of bringing in a new manager is slightly different from bringing in a new player. It leaves the team hanging by the thread if a manager is not able to identify with his players.
A new manager sets about his own style of play and his own philosophy and hence requires his own set of players. The example works not only in small clubs but all the way up to the top of the pile. Look at the example of Manchester City. Pep Guardiola could not work with Claudio Bravo or Joe Hart and many people thought he was overreacting. However, getting in Ederson this season has seen City produce a mean defence this time and it all boils down to Ederson. Moreover, Ederson’s ability to spread the game has helped his team score goals as well.
Therefore reports that Leeds United is interested in Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Kieren Westwood should be considered premature. The 33-year-old custodian is currently injured and out for the remainder of the season. He has one year left on his contract and has attracted the interest of many clubs like Southampton, Celtic and Leeds United.

Although it is wise to identify targets long before summer, Leeds should not make a rash decision by bringing anybody in who might not be able to keep up with the new management.
