Leicester City can lose out on their young defender Harry Maguire this summer to Manchester United. He can be on his way to the Old Trafford for a fee of around £35m. Manchester United are on the lookout for players in the summer transfer window as Jose Mourinho might be looking for a major squad shakeup.
Leicester City bought him for 12m in the last summer and after just one season in top-flight football, he has seen his value rise close to three times. Maguire started his career at Sheffield United’s academy and later went on to join Hull City here he impressed everyone. At just 23, he has already represented his national side England 9 times and is in line to be picked up for the upcoming World Cup.
When a club like Manchester United comes calling for a player it can be hard for anyone to resist. The Foxes will certainly try and eek out one more season from him but he can be lured if there is an offer at the table for him.
In that scenario, Leicester will look to replace him and we look at three potential replacements for Harry Maguire-
Jack Stephens
Like Maguire, Stephens is a young promising English centreback who plays for Southampton. Southampton are on the verge of being relegated to Championship status and that could mean that they can lose out on few of their players as the players will harbour ambitions of playing in the top division. In that situation, Stephens can make a move to Leicester City and continue playing in top-flight football.
Chris Smalling
If the Foxes are smart in the transfer market they can probably include Chris Smalling in Harry Maguire’s deal to Manchester United with Smalling going the other way. Smalling has faced a lot of criticisms lately for his performance at the Old Trafford. He has been inconsistent but he has also been part of the team which has kept the most number of clean sheets this season in the Premier League. Smalling has been around for quite some time now and Leicester can certainly make use of his experience.

Ahmed Hegazi
The Baggies defender could be another option for the Foxes. Hegazi is a traditional ‘no-nonsense’ defender and is good in the air. He stands tall at 6’4 and he joined West Brom on loan earlier this season. After few impressing them with his performance,s West Brom signed Hegazi permanently in the January transfer window. With West Brom on the verge of going down, Hegazi can look to move to Leicester to continue his stint in the English Premier League.
