Wolves have made contact regarding a possible transfer of Besiktas midfielder Anderson Talisca in the summer transfer window. According to recent reports, the Skybet Championship leaders are keeping tabs on the player who has caught the eye with his impressive performances in Turkey this season. However, the West Midlands side could face stiff competition from Liverpool and Manchester United in pursuit of the Brazilian’s signature when the transfer window opens in the summer.
Talisca is currently on a season-long loan deal at Besiktas from Benfica. Some sources have recently claimed that the Wolves have made their interest known to the player’s agent. They have also enquired about his availability with Talisca’s manager Carlos Leite but were reminded that his future rests in the hands of his parent club, Benfica.
Only time will tell whether the Wolves are willing to go on all out in pursuit of the Brazilian midfield enforcer this summer. The 24-year-old player has made 41 appearances for Besiktas this season and has scored 18 goals while providing 5 assists so far in all competitions.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are currently leading the Skybet Championship by a massive 12 points with a tally of 95 points in 43 matches. The West Midlands side are in a terrific run of form of late in the second tier of English football and are on the verge of clinching the league title this season.
The addition of Talisca will undoubtedly bolster the Premier League new boy’s midfield options going into the new campaign as they look to cope with life in the English top-flight. The Wolves have the likes of Ruben Neves, Romain Saiss, Alfred N’Diaye and Morgan Gibbs-White competing for a place in Santo’s starting eleven. The potential acquisition of Talisca this summer will definitely add more competition for places in their squad.
The Besiktas midfielder is highly versatile and can operate in a number of different roles in midfield. He primarily plays in the number 10 position as an attacking midfielder but can also be unleashed in a defensive midfield role which makes him a perfect fit to play under Santo. At 24, Talisca still has his peak years ahead of him which the Wolves could look to capitalise on, in the next few years. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of the Brazilian ace and whether he ends up making a switch to the Molineaux Stadium in search of more challenging adventures.
