Manchester United will be on the lookout for new players to mount a bigger challenge in the Premier League and other competitions and according to latest reports they are being linked with the highly-rated Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.
Tierney has been a revelation of a sort for the Hoops as he has been tremendous in the left-back role. He graduated from Celtic’s academy and is an out and out Celtic supporter as well and that makes him a fan favourite. Tierney is an aggressive fullback and is always willing to provide an overlapping run for his winger. He is defensively strong as well as he reads the games and is strong in his challenges.
Tierney was brilliant in the recently concluded derby as Celtic thrashed Rangers 4-0. Manchester United have used Ashley Young in the left back position for most of the season and the out and out left-back Luke Shaw has been confined to the bench. Luke Shaw was substituted in one of the games at halftime and that didn’t go down well with the former Saints man as he said that Mourinho has been unnecessarily targeting him. United are looking at the young Scottish fullback to fill in the role for next season and Celtic can lose out on their man if Manchester United come calling.
We look at three players which Rodgers can bring in if they allow their young fullback to leave-
Jonas Knudsen
Knudsen has been with Ipswich Town since 2015 and has been regular for them for quite some time now. The Danish has also gone on to represent his national team and is considered as one of the best left back in the Championship. He has provided 6 assists this season and can provide good passes and crosses in the attacking half of the pitch. He will be a good fit for the Rodgers side.
Joe Bryan
Bryan has been really impressive for Bristol City this season. He has played the left midfield role as well for the club but he has excelled in the left-back role. One would expect that a left midfielder will always be keen on attacking but he has been defensively strong as well and will be an able replacement for Tierney.

Luke Shaw
Luke Shaw is most likely to be on his way out of Manchester United for next season and he will be looking for suitors. Celtic can be smart in the transfer market and can probably look to include him in Tierney’s deal with Manchester United. Shaw will be assured of regular starts and can go on to revive his career while playing for Celtic.
