Rangers are prepared to sack their striker Kenny Miller following his bust-up with the Gers manager Graeme Murty after the club were beaten heavily by their bitter rivals Celtic with a 4-0 scoreline in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup. According to recent reports, the Teddy Bears are ready to terminate Miller’s deal by paying up his contract in full before showing him the exit door at the Ibrox Stadium.
It is being reported that the 38-year-old forward questioned the authority of Murty which left the Rangers boss fuming at his conduct. Some sources are now claiming that Murty does not want Miller to play any part in his squad going into the final stretch of the season. A source was recently quoted to have said, “The Ibrox hierarchy are raging with the behaviour of the club’s most senior player and club captain after Sunday’s defeat,”
“The powers-that-be believe the manager has been undermined and have decided to take action. They don’t think what happened in the dressing room is acceptable.”
With Miller set to leave the Gers, let’s take a look at three replacements for Murty to consider in the off-season.
Ross McCormack
If the Glaswegian giants are looking for someone who can be a temporary fix, they can definitely consider opting for the services of this 31-year-old veteran striker. The Scotsman has recently completed a loan spell at Melbourne City in the A-League and returned to Aston Villa in January. He has put in some sensational performances for the Australian outfit and has scored 14 goals in 19 matches in the last campaign. McCormack also has a lot of experience in English football which makes him a perfect candidate to take up the goal-scoring duties at the Ibrox Stadium.
Jordan Siebatcheu
If the Gers are looking for a more long-term approach, they could choose to make an offer for this talented youngster. The Stade Reims forward has lit up the Ligue 2 with his impressive performances this season. The 21-year-old forward has made 29 appearances for the French side this term, scoring 12 goals and creating 7 assists in all competitions. Siebatcheu has a lot of potential which the Teddy Bears could look to utilise in the coming years.
