Manchester United are already looking for reinforcements for next season to mount a better title challenge in the Premier League next year. Manchester City has led the title race for last few months and they wrapped up the title after United suffered a shocking loss to the bottom-placed West Brom.
Mourinho realises that to match the Citizens next year, he needs to have depth in his squad. According to reports, Manchester United are interested in signing Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire. Maguire is highly rated and has already gone on to represent England. He is also in line to be picked for the upcoming World Cup. He was signed by Leicester last summer for a fee of around £12m with another £5m in add-ons.
Maguire has been the backbone of Leicester City’s defence this season as he has been the first choice centre-back along with the experienced club captain Wes Morgan. Maguire graduated from Sheffield United’s academy and went onto join Hull City.
United are having an inconsistent season overall and will look to do better next season. The fans haven’t been much impressed with Mourinho’s style of play and some results have added more pressure on the Portuguese manager. Mourinho’s teams are built on a strong defensive line and quick counter-attacking ability. They have done well at the back but that has largely been down to some last-gasp saves from David De Gea.
Jones and Smalling are inconsistent and one never knows which player will turn up on a certain day. The big money signing of the summer, Lindelof has also found it tough to get used to life in the Premier League and Rojo’s time at United has been plagued by injuries.

Harry Maguire will be a great addition to this current United squad as he has all the abilities one can ask from a centreback. He is calm under pressure, reads the game well and is good on the ball. Plus he is a strong man and is a good in the air while defending and attacking set pieces for his team.
Given his age, he can be a long-term investment for Manchester United and with their financial prowess, he can easily be lured from Leicester City. He has all the abilities to become a stalwart for his club and country and is also being touted as a future captain.
