Manchester City will travel to London to take on Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday night looking to earn three crucial points which will help them get an inch closer to winning the Premier League title. The Citizens have suffered three successive defeats which also saw them get knocked out of the UEFA Champions League. They are now in need of a positive result on Saturday so that they can bounce back and wrap up the league title as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs are flying high in the league at the moment after a run of 8 successive victories in all competitions. Spurs have been a tough nut to crack at Wembley so City needs to bring their A-game to have any chance of bagging maximum points on the day. Guardiola is expected to opt for a 4-3-3 formation and will be without the services of Fernandinho (suspended) and Sergio Aguero (injured).
4-3-3 Predicted Manchester City Line-Up To Face Tottenham Hotspur
Defence
Ederson is expected to start in goal for the Citizens while Claudio Bravo settles for a place on the bench. The Brazilian keeper might be shielded by a backline of Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi in central defence while Fabian Delph starts in the left-back position and Kyle Walker takes his place on the right-hand side of the backline.
Both Danilo and Oleksandr Zinchenko might start on the bench for this clash. Pep Guardiola’s side has conceded 8 goals in their last 3 matches in all competitions. The Spanish manager will be hoping that his defenders can keep it tight at the back versus Spurs on Saturday night so that they can give themselves a good platform to go on and secure the three points on the day.
Midfield
The trio of Kevin De Bruyne, İlkay Gündoğan and David Silva could be deployed at the centre of the park and the performance of these players will be a decisive factor if Man City are to break down the Tottenham Hotspur defence at the Wembley Stadium.
Fernandinho will be out of this contest due to a suspension.
Attack
The front three would consist of Gabriel Jesus spearheading the Citizens attack, Leroy Sane looking to use his pace down the left flank while Raheem Sterling tries to cause some damage on the right flank. However, Sergio Aguero could be ruled out of this clash due to an injury.
The form of Sane and Sterling has dipped in recent weeks which is why City fans will be hoping that they can get their names on the scoresheet on Saturday night.
