Everton were having high hopes before the start of the season as they made some good purchases on paper in the transfer market plus they had an attack-minded manager in Ronald Koeman. However, things didn’t kick off well for the Merseyside team as they were in the relegation zone. Koeman was sacked and the experienced Sam Allardyce was brought in to guide Everton to safety. He has done just that as Everton are currently in top half of the table.
The Toffees are coming at the back of a lacklustre performance against Liverpool who rested key players for the derby. Everton had some golden opportunities in the latter half of the game but they couldn’t convert them. Overall it was a poor performance especially that they were at home and Liverpool didn’t have their key players. The Toffees will be making a trip to Swansea City on Saturday to play at the Liberty Stadium.
In the reverse fixture, they got the better of them by winning 3-1 at Goodison Park. But since then Swansea has improved leaps and bounds under Carlos Carvahal and should survive in the Premier League for one more year at least.
Here is how Everton will most likely lineup against Swansea City.
Defence
Jordan Pickford, the England international will start between the sticks. He is expected to be England’s first choice for the upcoming World Cup as has had a good season for Everton. Manchester City loanee, Eliaquim Mangala, is out injured so the experienced Phil Jagielka will start at the centre back. He will be partnered by Keane. Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman will take their usual full-back roles
Midfield
Sam Allardyce has quite a few options in midfield. Though one big miss will be the Iceland international Gylfi Sigurdsson who is pretty much out of the season due to injury. He has been the main creative force for Everton this season and has done well in his first season at the Goodison Park. Schniderlin will most likely start and play in the defensive midfield role.
He will be partnered by Tom Davies and Wayne Rooney. Rooney will be allowed to have freedom and make those runs in the box as he will be a goal threat. Davies will be expected to keep it ticking in midfield for the Toffees.

Attack
Yannick Bolasie and Theo Walcott will provide attacking edge to Everton as both have good pace and love taking on defenders. The newly signed Tosun who has found some good form recently will start up front.
