Celtic took yet another step towards the Scottish Premiership title after they defeated Hamilton Academical 1-2 at New Douglas Park. The visitors took an early lead through Callum McGregor’s goal which was cancelled by Rakish Bingham’s strike.
However, Brendan Rodgers’ men took the lead once again after Leigh Griffiths was put on the pitch after the interval and the goal from the veteran striker eventually proved to be the winner. Here is how we rated Rodgers’ troops from their win over Martin Canning’s side.
Scott Bain 6/10
The custodian was picked instead of Dorus de Vries and Craig Gordon and did well enough. He can hardly be accused for the goal that he conceded.
Jack Hendry 5/10
Hendry flattered to deceive at the back once again and he was rightfully replaced after the interval.
Kristoffer Ajer 4/10
It was arguably the worst game for the youngster after cementing his place in the starting line-up of the Hoops. He was at fault in Hamilton Academical’s goal and should have done much better at the back.
Dedryck Boyata 6/10
Boyata was reasonably better than the rest of the defenders as more often than not, he dealt well with the attacking endeavours of Canning’s side.
Patrick Roberts 6/10
Roberts bagged an assist as he helped in engineering the first goal scored by his side and did showcase notable amount of work-ethic on the pitch.
Scott Brown 6/10
It wasn’t a galvanizing outing for the skipper, but he did manage to keep things neat and tidy in the middle of the park and did his basics right.
Olivier Ntcham 6/10
Ntcham fared well alongside Brown and despite the fact that he wasn’t clinical with his shots, he tried to dictate the tempo of the game most of the times.
Kieran Tierney 7/10
He was ill-treated by the players of the home side but he kept galloping forward to cause a lot of trouble to their back line.
Callum McGregor 7/10
One of the best players on the pitch, McGregor gave the Celts an early lead and made a lot of quality runs in the final third to breach past opposition’s defence. His movements on and off the ball were commendable.
Scott Sinclair 6/10
Sinclair had a forgettable first-half but there is no denying that he came back stronger after half-time and assisted in Celtic’s second goal.
Moussa Dembele 5/10
The Frenchman missed a sitter early on and that seemed to take a toll on his confidence for the rest of the game.

Leigh Griffiths 7/10
He came on at half-time and took absolutely no time to make his presence felt as restored the lead of his side.
Edsonne Edouard 4/10
Edouard replaced Dembele with just over 20 minutes left on the clock but couldn’t make any sort of impact.

He replaced Roberts in the final minutes of the game.
