It was an end to end thriller when Leicester City hosted Chelsea in the League Cup at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday Night. Two first half goals from Shinji Okazaki put the Foxes in a comfortable position before Gary Cahill pegged one back just before the half-time whistle. Cesar Azpilicueta’s strike in the second half evened things up. Marcin Wasilewski’s sending off just before the full-time whistle gave Chelsea a man-advantage and the Blues did nit fail to take that opportunity as Cesc Fabregas’ brace during the added time knocked the Premier League holders out of the League Cup.
The Premier League holders travel to Old Trafford on Saturday to take on Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. The Red Devils started their season brightly under the Special One but three back to back losses against Manchester City, Feyenoord and Watford have heaped monumental pressure on the Portuguese. The Premier League holders, who are on the back of a 3-0 win against Burnley in the Premier League from the last weekend, will be looking to cause further problems to the Red Devils.
Jose Mourinho started his reign at Manchester United with a win against Leicester City in the FA Community Shield and Ranieri will be keen to take a revenge for the loss earlier this season. Here is the predicted Leicester City lineup Vs Manchester United.
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel is doubtful for the game which means that Ron-Robert Zieler will continue under the bar. The German is an academy graduate of Manchester United and will be looking for a good outing against his old club. We expect Danny Simpson, Robert Huth, Wes Morgan and Christian Fuchs to line up in the back four.
Midfield
Summer signing from Nice, Nampalys Mendy is still out with an injury and unlikely to feature against Manchester United. So, the central midfield duo is likely to remain the same. Danny Drinkwater will start against his former club alongside Daniel Amartey. Riyad Mahrez will an undisputed starter on the right flank and will be looking to cause troubles with his creativity. Marc Albrighton will start on the left.
Attack
Islam Slimani had a dream debut in the Premier League with a brace against Burnley in the Foxes’ 3-0 win last weekend. The Algerian will be looking for a similar outing against Manchester United as he starts up front alongside English international Jamie Vardy.
