Wolverhampton Wanderers have been stupendous this season under the tutelage of Nuno Espirito Santo. They are all set to get promoted to the Premier League and if they manage to jot down a series of strong performances until the end of the season, they might be able to lift the Championship silverware as well.
However, ramifications are expected during the summer transfer window and some players are anticipated to be signalled the marching orders by the club. Here are three players Wolverhampton Wanderers should let go in the summer.
Bright Enobakhare
Having emerged through the youth ranks of the Wolves, Bright Enobakhare showcased immense potential initially but he hasn’t been able to make the most of the opportunities he has been handed this season. He is capable of operating as a winger as well as a central attacking midfielder.
The 20-year-old Nigerian has scored just 1 goal in 19 appearances in the Championship and there is no denying that he should have done a lot more to ply his trade in the Premier League. Although a loan move could be an option, the strict rules of Financial Fair Play might force Espirito Santo to strike him off their books in the summer.
Kortney Hause
Kortney Hause has been hardly recognized by Espirito Santo this season in the English second division and it is highly unlikely that the Portuguese gaffer is going to give him chances in the Premier League. The versatile defender has made just 1 substitute appearance this season and has been serially overlooked by the Portuguese gaffer.
He was a key player for the Wolves last season but owing to Espirito Santo’s inclination to field a three-man defensive wall comprising of Ryan Bennett. Conor Coady and Willy Boly, Hause has been bereft of opportunities. With his contract set to expire at the end of next season, the club might fancy selling him in the summer.
Danny Batth
Danny Batth meticulously captained the side last season and it was expected that he would be trusted with on regular basis this season as well. However, that hasn’t been the case as the emergence of Coady and strong performances by Bennett has forced Batth to sit on the bench more often than not.
The animosity that the English top-flight offers are not unknown. Espirito Santo is seemingly likely to strive to get defensive reinforcements in the summer to engineer a strong footing amongst the elite clubs of England. In such a case, the 27-year-old defender would be pushed further below in the pecking order and thus, it would be wise to let him leave the Molineux Stadium in the summer.
