Chelsea are being linked with a move for Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, who can be brought in as a successor to Antonio Conte in the summer. According to recent reports, the Italian manager, who could be available at the end of the season, has told Roman Abramovich that he is interested in taking over the West London club after revealing that this will be his last campaign in Italian football.
Allegri has previously been touted to make a switch to the Emirates Stadium and recent sources are claiming that he is more keen on a move to Stamford Bridge. In a recent interview, the Italian boss addressed his future and was quoted to have said, ‘Certainly, I will go abroad. In Italy.. finished.’
The 50-year-old has already won three Serie A titles with Juventus and is well in contention of securing his fourth top-flight title at the end of this season. He has also led the Turin-based club to two UEFA Champions League finals but his chances of achieving the same feat this season seems highly unlikely after his side suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to a Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired Real Madrid team.
Chelsea are currently in the 5th position in the Premier League table with a tally of 56 points after Gameweek 32. Their hopes of finishing in the top 4 have almost extinguished after their disappointing 3-1 loss at home to Tottenham Hotspur. The Blues of London are in dire need to bring in some fresh faces in the summer to try and close the gap between themselves and their top 4 rivals next season.
The acquisition of a manager of the calibre of Allegri could turn out to be a shrewd move by the Londoners as he has a proven track-record of being a winner. The Italian has taken charge of 210 matches for Juve during his career, winning 149 matches, 32 draws and 29 losses (According to Transfermarkt).

Allegri has been at the Juventus Stadium since 2014 and could now be on the lookout for a fresh challenge but only time will tell whether he can turn Chelsea into genuine title contenders if he gets the job. However, the former AC Milan boss is still unproven outside Italian football which will be a cause for concern for Chelsea fans. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Allegri and whether he ends up making a switch to Stamford Bridge this summer.
