According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo wants his fellow countryman Bernardo Silva at Real Madrid for the next season. Real Madrid who might undergo a huge overhaul of their squad as they are 13 points behind the league leaders Barcelona are ready to splash the cash for the next season. Names like Neymar, Lewandowski, Eden Hazard are already doing the rounds. With Karim Benzema expected to leave this summer, a striker would be of topmost priority for the Real Madrid team. Also on the selling list could be Isco as he is certainly not happy with life at Madrid as he fails to break into the first team often.
There have been reports of a rift between Ronaldo and Isco and the manager has also been favouring the Real Madrid star over Isco. The situation is dire as the team has aligned with Ronaldo and has turned his back on Isco.
Being the big star that he is, Ronaldo is trying to persuade Perez into signing Bernardo Silva and let go off Isco.Silva who has struggled to get a regular start under Pep Guardiola might be lured if Real Madrid comes calling.
Bernardo Silva, who signed from Monaco had high hopes while joining City but he has been given only limited opportunities and is being called upon only when the regular starters have been injured. Silva has had his critics, who believe that the young midfielder is too lightweight for the premier league.
His technical ability has never been under doubt but the form of Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, and Kevin De Bruyne have kept his minutes limited in the first team. Sane who was in similar situation last year has made his place in the City lineup through some breakthrough performances.
It will be interesting to see whether he will wait at City for his chance, as Pep Guardiola rates him highly or will he be off to Real Madrid if there is an offer in place. At Real Madrid, he might end up fighting for his place with Gareth Bale who also could leave the club this summer. Bernardo Silva’s game might be better suited to La Liga as the physical demands of the league is far less than that of the premier league. He will be a good addition to the Madrid squad but whether Guardiola lets go of his prized young possession will be interesting to see.
