Rangers managed to earn only one point from their Scottish Premiership fixture at the Fir Park in an early kickoff today. Curtis Main’s strike from the penalty spot handed Stephen Robinson’s side an early lead which was doubled a few minutes later by Alan Campbell.
However, the Gers came back stronger in the second-half. James Tavernier found the back of the net after Rangers were awarded a penalty and a couple of minutes later, Jamie Murphy scored a brilliant goal. After that, the scoreboard remained untroubled.
Here is how we rated Graeme Murty’s men from their draw against Motherwell.
Wes Foderingham 6/10
The custodian wasn’t tested on a number of occasions but he did make a couple of saves. He can hardly be blamed for the two goals which Rangers conceded.
James Tavernier 6/10
Tavernier looked vulnerable at the back and was outpaced and outmuscled by the home side’s attackers regularly. However, he did score from the penalty spot which brought the Glasgow giants back into the game.
Russell Martin 5/10
The centre-back was a weak link in Murty’s back line as he was arguably a party at fault in both the goals that the Steelmen scored.
Bruno Alves 5/10
Another defender who flattered to deceive, Alves was hardly found to be resilient and there is no denying that he has to significantly up the ante from here on.
Declan John 6/10
Although there wasn’t any moment of magic from the left-back, he kept toiling hard and did his basics right more often than not.
Daniel Candeias 6/10
Candeias did provide a number of stupendous crosses but a lot more was expected from him.
Greg Docherty 4/10
The central midfielder was clearly bereft of ideas and was beaten comprehensively in the middle of the park. He seemed to be clueless throughout the fixture.
Graham Dorrans 6/10
He might have been timorous in the first-half but he did look lively in the second. However, he didn’t gallop forward to create openings for his side.
Jamie Murphy 7/10
One of the bright sparks for the Light Blues against Motherwell, Murphy kept questioning the home side’s back line and was a great threat while going forward. Besides, he also scored a wonderful goal.
Josh Windass 5/10
His creative prowess was negligible and he hardly made his presence felt.
Alfredo Morelos 7/10
The striker was formidable, particularly in the second-half, when he moved himself to the right areas and tried to showcase his calibre inside as well as outside the box.
Substitutions:
Jason Cummings NA
Cummings replaced Windass late in the second-half and got too little time to make an impact.
