Manchester United and its fans will not be too happy with the progress they have made this season and though they can still lift the FA Cup this season, manager Jose Mourinho is already planning for the next season. The Red Devils spent on Alexis Sanchez in January but are not able to get the best out of him yet and this has seen them linked with a number of attackers for a move this summer.
One name constantly doing the rounds is Neymar Jr.
The Brazil international only joined PSG last summer in a record-breaking deal but several reports claim that he is unhappy at the French capital and is already looking for an exit. Florentino Perez is desperate for his signature and is reportedly readying a bid for him in the summer but Jose Mourinho has now joined the race.
According to reports in Spain, Mourinho is ready to splash big money to bring the former Barcelona man to Old Trafford before the start of the next season. The story claims that United could end up spending up to €300m on Neymar’s transfer, including his wages and are in the hunt for his signature.
And to smoothen things up, the Portuguese manager is reportedly ready to add Paul Pogba in that deal, which could attract PSG. The French midfielder has not been able to settle into life in England even in the second time of asking and has been benched too frequently by Mourinho this season and reports suggest that PSG could be ready to take Pogba to his home country and let Neymar move to England. But is it the right move by Mourinho?
Having spent record money on Pogba, it will be foolish for United to let him leave, like they did a few years ago but adding a player like Neymar to their squad could be the answer to most of their troubles.
Pogba has not been able to fit into the system under Mourinho and if the Manchester United hierarchy are ready to stick with the Portuguese international, they should do what it takes to keep the gaffer happy. If Mourinho is fed up with Pogba and believes that he can get the best out of Neymar, this deal could be the best in recent times for the club.
Like Pogba, Neymar is a genuine match winner and took no time to adjust to the conditions in Paris. Though the Premier League is a tougher ask, he has what it takes to set the league on fire and will be a sensational addition for United, even if it is at the expense of Pogba.
But do you think United should not let Pogba leave again?
