As per one of the latest reports by The Sun, Sheffield Wednesday are all set to ship out their striker, Jordan Rhodes, on loan next season. The 28-year-old has scored just 4 goals in 28 outings in the Championship and has certainly flattered to deceive.
The decision of the Owls to send him away makes a lot of sense and it would be wise for Rhodes to move to a club that could offer him game time on a regular basis. Here are three clubs that should appeal him for a move in the summer.
Leeds United
One of the major causes of concern for Leeds United this season has been the apparent lack of a serial goal getter. The Whites failed to find a replacement for Chris Wood who left for Burnley in the summer. The likes of Caleb Ekuban and Pierre-Michel Lasogga have hardly met the expectations as they have been quite sporadic in their endeavours.
A move to the ranks of the Yorkshire based club should help Rhodes in reshaping his career. Paul Heckingbottom’s side have seemingly lost their way in the race for promotion and there is no denying that the manager would be keen to beef up his attacking arsenal in the summer to mount a serious challenge for promotion next season.
Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest have struggled in their attacking endeavours of late and as per one of the latest reports by Nottingham Post, Aitor Karanka is perceived to be interested to sign Rhodes in the summer. The Tricky Trees do need some firepower next season and signing Rhodes would make a lot of sense.
The Sheffield Wednesday outcast was linked with a move to the City Ground in the January transfer window but the deal failed to cross the line. Karanka is well acquainted with Rhodes as he was at the helm of Middlesbrough when the Smoggies lured him to the Riverside Stadium from Blackburn Rovers.
West Bromwich Albion
West Bromwich Albion are seemingly likely to get doomed at the end of the season. The Baggies have been in a stuttering form throughout this campaign in the top flight and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them in the Championship next season. They are expected to lose some of their key players due to their relegation and thus, they must make shrewd moves in the summer transfer window.
The Throstles would need players with experience of Championship and someone like Rhodes should come handy for them next season. Rhodes holds the ball really well in the final third, is good in the air and if he manages to be consistent in his outings, he can make an impact in the Championship next season.
