Guehi And Stones To Start | 4-1-3-2 Manchester City Predicted Lineup Vs Liverpool

Manchester City will welcome Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday afternoon as they look to secure a good result at home in the FA Cup. The Mancunian giants managed to earn a solid 2-0 win over Arsenal in the EFL Cup final before the international break, so they would be full of confidence going into this game.

Pep Guardiola will set his men up in a 4-1-3-2 formation and is expected to make a couple of changes to his first team for this clash. Both Marc Guehi and John Stones could play from the start of this game.

4-1-3-2 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Liverpool

Defence

James Trafford will operate in between the sticks for Man City after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. Marc Guehi will function alongside John Stones at the heart of Guardiola’s defence as they hope to keep a solid shape on the defensive end of the field.

Matheus Nunes will try to prove his worth as the right-back, while Nico O’Reilly looks to give a good account of himself on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Nathan Ake and Rayan Ait-Nouri will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Rodri will operate as the holding midfielder for Man City as he looks to protect his backline and feed some decent passes to his teammates up top.

The talented trio of Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva and Rayan Cherki will play just ahead of the Spaniard as part of Guardiola’s attack. All three of them need to move the ball well if they want to create enough chances for Man City to win this cup game at the Etihad.

Nico Gonzalez, Tijjani Reijnders and Phil Foden will have to be content with a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo will lead the charge for the Mancunian outfit up top. Both of them need to combine well if they want to threaten the Liverpool goal this weekend.

Omar Marmoush will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the game if required.
