Chelsea Are Preparing To Move In For This Barcelona Defender: Good Option For Rosenior?

In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus claimed that Chelsea are preparing to move in for Barcelona defender Jules Kounde. It has been mentioned that the Blues are eyeing a move to secure the services of the French talent at the end of this campaign.

Kounde’s Impressive Form In La Liga

The 27-year-old is having a decent campaign at the Catalan club as he has put in a string of solid displays for them in La Liga. Kounde has found the back of the net three times and earned four assists in 41 matches for Barcelona this season across various competitions.

The France international is currently one of the best defensive full-backs in Spanish football. Hence, Chelsea would do well to lure him to Stamford Bridge in the upcoming transfer window.

His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for the Blues to sign him later this year.

Will Kounde Be A Good Option For Chelsea?

Kounde is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is a tidy passer as well.

The French sensation can even create the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net. He is primarily a right-back but can also fill in as a centre-back if asked to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether Kounde can maintain his good form in the Premier League if the Blues can find a way to get him on board this summer.

We can expect him to bring more quality and depth to Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior’s match-day squad. Kounde is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge in the coming years.

At 27, Kounde is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent option for the Blues to consider in the upcoming transfer window. With all things considered, the West London giants would be wise to go all out to bring him to the English capital this summer.
