Willock, Botman And Livramento To Start | 4-2-3-1 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup Vs Sunderland

Newcastle United will entertain Sunderland at St. James’ Park this Sunday afternoon as they look to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies suffered a 7-2 thrashing at the hands of Barcelona recently, so they would be eager to bounce back with a positive result this weekend.

Eddie Howe will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his first team for this game. Joe Willock, Tino Livramento and Sven Botman could all play from the start of this clash.

Defence

Aaron Ramsdale will operate in goal for the Magpies after conceding seven goals in his last appearance. Malick Thiaw will get a chance to play alongside Sven Botman at the heart of the Newcastle backline as they look to keep a good shape on the defensive end of the field.

Tino Livramento will try to catch the eye as the right-back, while Lewis Hall looks to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Kieran Trippier and Dan Burn will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Joe Willock and Jacob Ramsey will anchor the midfield for the Magpies as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park.

The gifted trio of Harvey Barnes, Nick Woltemade and Anthony Elanga will play just ahead of them as part of Howe’s attack. All three of them need to be at the top of their game if the Magpies are to come out on top this weekend.

Joelinton and Jacob Murphy will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Anthony Gordon will spearhead Newcastle’s attack up top. He has to find a way to put his pace to good use in the final third.

William Osula and Yoane Wissa will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if needed.
