Manchester City Are Facing Stiff Competition For This Chelsea Midfielder: Is He Worth The Fight?

In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Manchester City are facing stiff competition for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez. It has been mentioned that the Mancunian club would have to compete with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Al Hilal and Al Nassr in the race to sign the Argentine talent this summer.

Fernandez’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Fernandez is having a decent campaign at the West London club as he has produced a string of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The Argentina international has made 39 appearances for the Blues this season, scoring 11 goals and grabbing five assists across all competitions.

The 25-year-old is currently among the most consistent midfielders in the Premier League. Hence, it is no wonder that Man City are in the running to land him this off-season.

His current contract at Stamford Bridge will expire in the summer of 2032, which could make it tough for the Mancunian giants to land him on the cheap later this year.

Manchester City Are Facing Stiff Competition For Fernandez: Is He Worth The Fight?

Fernandez is a solid tackler of the ball and doesn’t mind putting in a hard-working shift for his team defensively when needed. He has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for others around him to find the back of the net and is a good dribbler as well.

The Argentine talent can shoot the ball with power from long range and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third. Fernandez is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if required. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man City.

Fernandez would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Pep Guardiola’s first team. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium in the coming seasons.

At 25, Fernandez has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Man City to consider this summer. He would be well worth the fight, so Guardiola would be wise to step up his efforts to acquire his services in the upcoming transfer window.
