Aston Villa will entertain Chelsea at Villa Park this Wednesday night as they look to earn all three points at home in the Premier League. The Villans suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss away at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the West Midlands derby recently, so they would be eager to bounce back by securing a win in midweek.
Unai Emery will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one tweak to his first XI for this game. Ian Maatsen could play from the start of this contest, while Lucas Digne makes way for him and drops to the bench.
4-2-3-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will function in goal for the Villans after he conceded two goals in his last appearance. Ezri Konsa will play alongside Pau Torres at the centre of the Aston Villa backline as they look to keep the Chelsea attackers frustrated during the 90 minutes.
Matty Cash will try to prove his value at right-back, while Ian Maatsen hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to perform their defensive duties well before trying to offer some support to their teammates up top.
Victor Lindelof and Tyrone Mings will provide cover for the centre-back positions on the bench.

Midfield
Douglas Luiz and Amadou Onana will operate as the holding midfielders for the Villans. Their main job would be to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Emi Buendia, Morgan Rogers and Jadon Sancho will function just ahead of them as part of Emery’s attack. All three of them need to link up with each other well if the West Midlands club are to come out on top this Monday night.
Ross Barkley and Leon Bailey will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will lead the line for the Villans up top. He has to figure out a way to be a real threat in the final third.
Tammy Abraham will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the final quarter if the Villans are in need of a goal by then.
