Chelsea Are In The Running To Land This Crystal Palace Defender: Good Signing For Rosenior?

In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Chelsea are in the running to land Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix. It has been mentioned that the Blues will have to rival Liverpool, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich in the race to sign the French centre-back this summer.

Lacroix’s Impressive Form In English Football

Lacroix has enjoyed a good run of form at the London club this season and deserves credit for putting in a run of solid displays for them on the defensive end of the field. The 25-year-old has found the back of the net three times and earned a couple of assists in 43 matches for Crystal Palace in this campaign across all competitions.

The French talent is currently among the best centre-backs in the Premier League. Thus, Chelsea would do well to acquire his services this off-season.

His current contract at Selhurst Park will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Chelsea to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Is Lacroix A Good Signing For Chelsea Boss Liam Rosenior?

Lacroix is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is a decent passer of the ball.

Standing at 1.90m, the French centre-half is a strong presence in the air and doesn’t mind putting his body on the line to make a few last-ditch blocks for his team. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Chelsea.

We can expect Lacroix to bring more bite and steel to Liam Rosenior’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the West London club in the coming years.

At 25, Lacroix has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent signing for the Blues to pursue at the end of this campaign. He might even help the Blues challenge across all fronts in the coming years. Therefore, Rosenior would be wise to engineer a move to bring Lacroix to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.
