Liverpool faced off against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light earlier tonight as they hoped to secure all three points on the road in the Premier League. The Reds made a decent start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
Virgil Van Dijk finally scored the opener with a powerful header in the 61st minute. The contest finished with Arne Slot’s players earning a narrow 1-0 win at the Stadium of Light.

He worked hard at both ends of the field.

Gravenberch anchored the midfield well and was good on the ball.
CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 7.5/10
He got stuck in with a few solid tackles and ran the show inside the Sunderland half.
RW: Mohamed Salah – 7/10
Salah managed to shine at times on the right flank and managed to secure an assist for setting up Van Dijk’s winning goal.

He caused a lot of problems for his marker and was unfortunate to hit the post.

Gakpo was a real menace on the left flank and won a couple of aerial duels.

He was a real handful for the opposition defenders and made some good runs with the ball.
