In a recent report, Area Napoli claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are in the running to land Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay. It is believed that Spurs would have to compete with Manchester United and Arsenal in the race to sign the Scottish talent this summer.
McTominay’s Impressive Form In Serie A
McTominay is having a decent campaign at the Italian club as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The Scottish talent has banged in nine goals and earned four assists in 33 appearances for Napoli this season across all fronts.
The 29-year-old is currently among the most consistent midfielders in Serie A. Hence, it makes sense for Spurs to try and bring him back to England this summer.
His current contract at Napoli will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for Tottenham to sign him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Thomas Frank Go For McTominay?
McTominay is a good tackler of the ball and can make the odd interception for his side at the centre of the park. He usually clears the danger when needed and can shoot the ball with power from long range.
The Scottish sensation has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. He is full of energy and running in the middle of the field. McTominay is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also play as a defensive midfielder or in the number ten position if told to do so.
McTominay is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life in the Premier League. We can expect him to bring more quality and depth to Tottenham boss Thomas Frank’s midfield department.
At 29, McTominay is still playing in his prime and has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team place at the North London club in the coming years. He might even help Spurs challenge for a major trophy in the future. Therefore, Frank would be wise to go for a player of his quality and skill set at the end of this season.
