Former Club Chief Reveals That Aston Villa Star Will Be Worth £100m In The Summer: What Should The Lions Do?

Former club chief Keith Wyness thinks Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers will be worth £100 million in the summer. This price tag will depend on Rogers playing out of his skin for England at the upcoming World Cup. Wyness talked about this on the Inside Track podcast, mentioning that four big clubs are already keeping a close eye on the attacker.

Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers will be in demand in the summer transfer window

The executive pointed out that Rogers has the right mix of a professional head on his shoulders, technical ability, and youth. These qualities make him a top target for Europe’s biggest teams. So, any success on the world stage this summer will probably see his market price explode.

“Well, if he does make the squad, which we believe he will do for the World Cup, and he has a good World Cup, then he’s a £100m player straight away,” said Wyness.

“There will be a lot of interest in Morgan Rogers. He’s got the right attitude, the skills, he’s the right age, everything works.

“If he has that sort of World Cup notoriety with it as well, it’s £100m all day long.”

The 23-year-old forward has become the heartbeat of Unai Emery’s team. Rogers has racked up 8 goals and 5 assists in 26 Premier League games during the 2025/26 season so far. He is often the spark behind Aston Villa’s push for a top-four spot.

On the pitch, he usually plays as a powerful, direct attacking midfielder who loves picking up the ball and driving straight into the box. The stats show that Rogers is great at pulling off difficult moves, and he is also incredibly clinical, rarely wasting a chance in front of goal. On top of that, he is strong enough to brush off defenders while keeping tight control of the ball.

With the way he’s playing right now, Aston Villa face a massive decision to make this summer. Teams like Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United will be sniffing around. If Aston Villa want to stay among the top clubs, they have to turn down the urge to sell their best player, even for a hundred-million-pound offer.

Selling Rogers would bring in a huge amount of money. However, finding someone else who fits Emery’s system so perfectly would be a nightmare. Aston Villa should focus on getting him a new contract to keep his value high. He is so important to how the team play that he is worth more than a quick payday. Keeping world-class players like Rogers is the only way for the club to keep fighting for trophies and Champions League football.
